Overcoming "Hump Day" aka Run 2

We are now half way through Week 3 and for me Run 2 is the hardest of the three weekly runs.

Run 1 is the start of a brand new week and I am full of enthusiasm, Run 3 is the last so I am excited to be completing another week but Run 2 always seems to be more of a challenge to overcome.

According to the NHS website regular running can reduce your risk of long-term illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke so the benefits are clear to see and a great incentive to keep going.

One tip I read suggested keeping a diary of our runs. Make a note of how you felt, where you ran, the distance you ran and the weather conditions so if you are having a tough day, you can look back on your diary entries and be encouraged by the progress and improvement you have made.

Consider changing running routes to prevent it becoming boring. Different sights and sounds can be a perfect distraction, the dancing dinosaurs seem to be a prominent feature in Plymouth at the moment though sadly I am yet to witness them, and before you know it another run is in the bag and you are one run closer to the end of the programme.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who is continuing to push through.

Team CheeziFit is so proud of each and every one of you. It makes our day to read your stories and witness your growing confidence and sense of achievement. The support and motivation our CheeziJoggers give to each other when someone is having a tough day is community spirit at its VERY best.
